Deep blue Drama
 The strong,
dramatic blue of this room is softened by the light neutrals of the
furnishings, the pale rug and white accessories.
The star of the show, and the central source of warmth is
the art.

Blue on the Warm Side
 Who knew blue could be
this warm and soft? As you can see in this room, it surely
can! Coupled with neutral warm accessories, earth tones and a great
painting, who couldn't relax in front of this fireplace?
The painting, mixed
media on canvas, is by Cary Henrie. "Curved Vista
Patina" measures 30x40 and sells for $2860

Blue that's almost
green....or a great accent!
 
Sometimes
we just can't decide if a blue is almost green, or a green is almost
blue, so we just call it *blue/green*....simple! In the room
setting on the left Barrie VanOsdell's lovely "Currents"stream
painting, pulls both the blue and green tones into the room.
"Currents"
is oil on canvas, 24x24, $2200.
Often
we have a neutral area in the house that just cries out for some
pizzazz. The archway in the room on the right is given punch by
VanOsdell's colorful still life that incorporates vibrant blue with
complements of yellow and red;

Your
DIY tip for this issue
 In the "why didn't I
think of that" department.......here's a nifty way to keep your
hair styling tools within reach.
Simply cut (or get your
spouse to do it) 4 pieces of PVC pipe from your local home remodeling
supply store. The two larger ones are 2" PVC and the cord storage
ones are 1 1/2" pipe.
These are mounted inside
the vanity cabinet door with the new adhesive strips ( Uglu brand) that
won't mar your cabinets and can be removed with ease.
